UIUX

can describe of what I do & and love

I design them. I think of them. I build and craft them and talk about them. And lastly, I learn about them - every day.

Core of my daily work

Lean UX

One important skill I have required is listening and observing people. Interviewing stakeholders for insights and using real users to avoid usability traps in the process of crafting is a key factor in my work, factor of success.

Rapid prototyping

Design is communication in its core. I love todays tools as they allow me to test & communicate ideas in different forms rapidly. Sketching, HTML prototyping and tools like Reflow, Macaw save time and help clients to understand my ideas.

Interaction design & development

Imagine User Interface without animations? How would it feel? Not many think of this, but for good usability in complex UI's, animations are crucial and a solid part of my process of designing & developing user interfaces.

Interface development

UX, prototyping and design. In the end they all turn into code and code turns into something real in browser. I love to do this. Performance, semantics, interactions, responsive layouts and good content with right context/structure. LOVE IT.

Responsive Web Design

Today, most of what I do aims in producing scaling results. This requires another set of design & development principles that I lay my work on.

PERFORMANCE is crucial when thinking CONTENT FIRST and over all experience. PROGRESSIVE ENHANCEMENT so that primary actions always can be accomplished if something breaks. GRACEFUL DEGRADATION to make sure best get the best and last but not least, ACCESSIBILITY of which, to be honest I have a lot of learning to do.

And I never design for devices. I DESIGN FOR RESOLUTIONS AND BROWSER CAPABILITIES. Enhancing what to be enhanced, always starting from the smallest screen.

And this all just means,
I UNDERSTAND RWD.

Short history of my work

2006

2006 - 2009 Freelancing With a noop attitude

First introduced to WEB in school, I immediately knew it was my thing. But, as the price of learning and experimenting new thins, you usually do a lot of not-so-good-shit. Neither did I. But most important - I learned, a lot.

    2009

    2009 - 2012 Back-end to Front-end

I was still a noop but I knew what I wanted. I chose three companies that I applied and could not find a better place than Nitro. They truly gave me room to grow and I got a lot. Started with custom made backends, frameworks like Symfony, Codeigniter, CMS systems like Wordpress, Drupal and Expression Engine. Rapidly moving towards front-ends - prototyping UI's, creating interaction demos and consulting on ux. When I left Nitro, I was no Noop anymore.

      2012

      2012 Today I have a big audience

All the content you see on this page is what I do today. I'm part of Portal Design Services team, responsible on long term concepts, UI's, design and UX. Core member on the TeliaSonera brand RWD Guideline project and responsible of RWD work on the TeliaSonera Finland online existence. Self service login page, Support, Broadband and TV eShop, usability tests, prototypes, Lean UX and conversion work. And more. I really dont have any complaints to give of what I do today..
